  Been using specsavers for years. Always extra thorough with examinations and tests. They always have all the latest technology too often newer and better than hospitals. On more than one occasion I've been referred to specsavers by both my gp and hospital as there will be no waiting list and equal or better equipment. Can't really lose out. Parking isn't too expensive at the chestergate/merseyway carpark, and it's mere minutes away all under shelter.

  Gp advised me to contact here to treat my 3 year old son's minor eye condition/infection . Receptionist took our details but 2 hours later no-one had got back to us. I called back and there were no appointments for the next 3 days. So phoned another optician who said it should be seen within 24 hours but they had no appointments, but they are obliged to ring round and find us one (which they did). Apparently Specsavers should have done this. They have been commissioned by the NHS to provide this service but based on this experience they are not doing it to a suitable standard. Similar to their NHS hearing service. AVOID
